Damn...... I just wrote about an a-4 page here, but then this damn pc fucked up (:( I don't want to write it all again, so I'll give you the short story.

A guy from BA ( Ba is a newspaper in norway, about the 4-5 biggest, and it's from the town where I live, Bergen) rang me on my phone and he wanted to interview me about Kick Off 2002 ( I'd sent BA an huge email the day before).

We talked for an half an hour, and he then posted an article on the site, yesyerday about 7pm english time, http://www.ba.no.

He told me it would be a small "just to see if there's any interest in this game" link to a forum where people could talk about the release, but the guy made it look much much better then that. When I checked the site late yesterday night, Kick Off 2002 was the second biggest news on the site, and the guy had written a decent article already!

Here's my translation from Norwegian:

"- GIVE FOOTBALL BACK TO THE PLAYERS

One on the guys behind the classic "Kick Off"
football game, has made a new version for PC. They want to give the football game players more oppertunities on the field ( football pitch).

By Henning Jensen

The famous footbal game "Kick Off" more or less died when people stopped using atari and amiga because of PC. Now's the PC version ready for release. The game will hit the shops the eight of March ( i'm fucked if this game is not going to be published in norway, but I'm pretty sure it will. Any news Steve?).

Åsane boy (Åsane = the place where I live in Bergen) is part of "Team Kick Off" :

21 year old Bjarte A. Bakke from Åsane has been a beta tester of Kick Off 2002, and he promises kick off will give people a more intense football experience on computers then ever before.

- The most special thing about this game is that you can do everyrhing you want yourself! It's not like the games where you've got a button for ex. tacklings, headers, dribbling, passing and so on. In Kick Off you've got to do that tackle, pass and so on youself. This concerns everyting in the gameplay.

Bjarte played Kick Off himself with great entusiasm of his amiga back in the last 80's( no I didn't! It was the early 90's as I told him

- The unice thing about this release is that the man behind it all, Steve Screech, has made the game together with the true Kick Off fans. This has been very important for the game has now been made with the Kick Off players blessing (ehh.. something like that anyway)

Translated to Norwegian

Bakke found a Kick Off page on the internet just by luck, and he made contact (hehehe) with Screech. This is how the Åsane boy became a beta tester. He's also translated the game to Norwegian.

- Screech has really cared about what the fans had to say about what they wanted in the new Kick Off game, and he's taken their ideas into consideration, and put many of them in the game. A few of my ideas has also been put in the game, for ex a man of the match award, and that you can controll the ball when you make a sliding tackle. This makes the tacklings much more realistic, says Bakke.

He believes supporters of the modern football games will be in for a great surprise when the play Kick Off.

- They'll see how lovely it is to be able to play real football on a computer.

BA has still not tested the game, but we'll test the full version of the game later. "

Okay, that was it. I never meant this article to be so much about me, but the important thing was that he used a few of my decent quotes about Kick Off. Hopefully a few people will relpy to this article so that they'll make a huge one when they've tested the game.

Cheers lads,

Bjarte

Thanks Steve. Do you have any info on the "when's the game coming to Norway" issue?

Cheers
