Competition Pro Joysticks

Postby durban » Fri May 09, 2008 12:30 pm

Ok,

Can anyone tell me how many different 'colours' of the regular COMP PRO 5000 where made (not the mini version)

I have seen a Green Clear one, a Blue Clear one and the regular Black and Clear versions as well as a White (not clear) version.

Also these new USB PC versions, do the cases fit the old Amiga/ST Comp Pros?

I am just thinking of customising my Collection by mixing and matching bases and parts etc and just wondered if they all fit each other?

I've got two comp pro usbs (regular black/red and a blue/silver one). They seem to be the same size casing iirc. (haven't got a amiga comp pro anymore to compare)

When I was younger my joystick of choice was the Cruiser (blue base, white buttons and red stick) then I went on to Zipstick. I do remember the Atari 2600 joysticks to be extremely durable...good for those athletic games!

I have a vague recolection of one with silver buttons. Might have been a blue one but not sure of that.

Also, I haven't forgotten I said I'd let you have my old ones mate but I haven't been able to locate them yet. Half the house is in boxes still. Found a PC one though which I bought off ebay a while back. Don't think it works though. Grey with a sound card game plug type end on it. If you're interested.

I have the following ones..

Comp Pro.. pure white.. had when I was a young teenager.. still works even now.. (all leaf switches)
Comp Pro.. all black, red buttons.. very common.. got loads of these. (some have microswitch directional, all have leaf firebuttons)
Comp Pro.. all black, black buttons.. do not like this stick to play with.. but it looks good. (all leaf switches)
Comp Pro.. blue with silver buttons... had two of these.. not so good as spring action (all microswitch buttons)
Comp Pro Clear.. with rubber action.. awesome for KO2 (leaf firebutton, microswitch directional)
Comp Pro Clear.. with springs and microswitch firebuttons.. good for ko2.. but not my favourite choice. (all microswitch buttons)

Erm are you selling any mate?

In particular the last 'clear' one and a blue one?!?!?!

Diego mate, no worries although I have to pick up a package from the post office later and had presumed it was that  :)

I wonder what it could be :)

Yeah I've seen the camo one. He's just taken a red and black one and covered it with some material cut from from some camo trousers he got from the Warrington Army and Navy store. High quality stitching though :)
