The mentalist is not comedy at all, even though the main character is always smiling (I honestly think the guy plays a great role) and some of the antics he pulls to play with potential suspects' minds could make you chuckle.

On the opposite, the leader of the detective squad (a woman) never smiles, and there is a certain "love tension" between her and Jane despite different personality and totally clashing work methodologies.

Watched Flashforward and yes it has potential - we'll see where it goes ...

Love Criminal Minds ... although maybe by season 4 they are starting to run out of ideas

Dexter RULES ... I've only watched seasons 1 and 2 ... need to see 3 ASAP as season 4 is about to start

Doll House was kind of interesting - maybe a bit bland ... although the epilogue episode at the end of season 1 suddenly got me interested again .. season 2 soon.

Mentalist I can dip in and out of ... it's a good choice when channel hopping and there's nothing else on

Warehouse 13 is wank ... really don't care about the characters and the stories are not engaging. Disappointing really as the trailers made it look so good!

Supernatural ... I'm way behind the curve with this one ... I'm watching season 1 on Living ... not too bad at all and I can see it getting better with each episode

agree on these... Criminal Minds episodes are very up and down, some are a bit boring and others are great. It's a shame also that Patinkin left the set.(long ago now tho.)

I'm afraid Dexter's third season isn't as good as the previous two. To be honest, I felt those two seasons told everything there is to say and the third season seems to prove that. It's still pretty good and I will check out the fourth season.

I only saw the pilot for Warehouse 13 and didn't bother continuing. Same with Fringe.

I thought the first half of season 1 of Fringe got worse as it went on ... and then all of a suddenly hey started to pull it together in the second half ... I think I'm actually looking forward to season 2!

fringe was nice to start with but pretty soon you realised that the plot was too similar in every episode....

Looked at the first episode of Southland the other day. Best quote yet:

- Rich kid being pulled over: "Do you know who my father is?"

- Cop: "Why? Didn't your mother tell you?"

I've actually had this discussion with other people before. Gideon (Patinkin) stood out from the squad, and that seemed to be the path they were going to use for Rossi (Mantegna). In the first Rossi episodes, he acted as the "old timer" who couldn't adapt to the new methodologies and technologies, and would use his old tricks to solve cases - in this aspect, I think he topped Gideon. However (and this is one of the reasons I don't really watch Criminal Minds anymore unless I'm keeping my wife company), they soon had him blend in with the squad and his own perks/traits weren't visible anymore.

That happened to Reid and Morgan as well and they soon started to focus the episodes on the murders and the gruesome/crazyness of them, instead of focusing on the team, interactions and personalities. This made the series, imho, boring and repetitive.

:D :D Absolutely awesome show! It's on at the perfect time too on a Sunday evening - what better way to prepare for a week at work than a program about a psychopath slaughtering people?

I have to disagree with that, Season 2 was terrible, Season 3 with Jimmy Smit's was a whole lot more entertaining.

Stop disagreeing with me, Ellie! :) I felt that after the first season a few major questions remained unanswered - like what will happen if the police is onto him? And while the story arch wasn't as satisfying all open questions were answered. Admittedly, I didn't have a good feeling as soon as the 3rd season was announced because I didn't know how to continue without "more of the same". And I thought the season proved me right, it was more of the same. Ok, the addition of Jimmy Smits was something new, but I never felt like that was reasonable, Dexter should not have taken that risk, it doesn't fit in with the rest. Neither does him getting closer to Rita - remember how he used to say that he doesn't have any emotions and has to play the role. But now he suddenly has "ordinary" emotions... and it lessens my "respect" for him as a serial killer.
