Film : Fun With Dick And Jane

Watched : 09/04/07

Format : SKY MOVIES recorded on SKY+ BOX

Score : 4/10

Review : Not what I had expected. The comedy in this film was very poor compared to other films with Jim Carrey in them, so if you want a good comedy film to watch, this is one to avoid. :(

Film : Sunshine

Watched : 08/04/07

Format : Cinema

Score : 8/10

Review : Great film. About some dudes on a spaceship and is really scary. The cinematography is great, with loads of 'extras' put in to build up the suspense. This is a good horror, not some feelgood movie.

Glad you liked it Alkis. It's in my top 20! This film also has very decent soundtrack by Harry Gregson-Williams.

I'm looking forward to the next one of these - looks like they will make Prince Caspian next.

I remember Mark Kermode's review of this film.

Sums it up well.

Did anyone else notice that Office Space film was on telly t'other day. Never heard of it before seeing it on here and there it was on BBC2 after the golf.

Film: Idiocracy

Watched: 08/04/07

Format: DivX to telly via XBMC

Score: 5/10

Review: I was hoping for better from the Writer/Director of Office Space. The concept was excellent but the film felt like it was aimed too low down the food chain of Human intelligence with is rather ironic when you consider the story line!

Film: Idiocracy

Watched: Couple of months ago

Format: DivX to telly

Score: 3/10

Review: What Ely said. The concept is good (humans in the future are absolute morons, dumbed down by TV), but much more care should have been taken to not make the film look as dumb as the people it portraits.

Film: La Marche de l'empereur (The Emperor's Journey)

Watched: April 12th

Format: Satellite TV (recorded on hard disk)

Score: 9/10

Review: Simply amazing. I rarely see documentaries unless they are about technology. I don't give a shit about the mating rituals of the slow loris. Therefore, I thought I'd be bored after watching a film which is basically more of a documentary for 85 minutes.
I was very WRONG. This is so original and well made that it had me glued to my seat. The cinematography was awesome, but I was expecting that. What I did not expect was to be amazed by learning about penguins. The only reason I don't give it a 10 is that I would have enjoyed more 'characters' (that is to say, more voice actors).
You won't regret watching it.

Documentary: The Blue Planet and Planet Earth

Watched: 2007

Format: DVD

Score: 10/10

Review: Haven't seen those penguins, but "characters"? Doesn't sound promising to me. Instead, go with these BBC documentaries. They are absolutely amazing. If you don't care so much about sea life, then stick with Planet Earth.
