Playing KO2 with a PC with windows

Postby pit » Fri Aug 31, 2007 2:10 pm

Hello everybody,

Even if I'm now an old french man (32 years old), I'm a big BIG fan of KO2 which is the most beautiful game ever made. I played with my Amiga thousand million hours and yesterday, I discover this web site and know we are some millions players through the world !!!

PLease, could you explain to me very precisely, how to play KO2 with a PC functioning with Windows (adress for the soft, material to buy ?...).
Thank you very very much for your quick answer. I'm already so nervous to play again this marvelous game...

Thank you very much Garry but I'm really beginner with all these tools !The win UAE is an emulator : what is it ? a soft which allows to convert an amiga game on PC ?
Moreover, some error message appear. It seems to be well configurated.
Do you have more details ?
Thank you for your welcome :)

I'm not very technical myself, I'm afriad but the WinUAE is a piece of software that makes your pc emulate the amiga and so it can run .adf files (amiga game files).

Here at the KOA, we use the fantastic competition version of KO2:
http://www.ko-gathering.com/phpbb2/view ... hp?t=13997

For an game to run on the emulator you need to set up the configuation file correctly. I don't know the KO2 settings off the top of my head (something like roms = 1.3, floppy=KO2CV etc etc).

I'm sure one of the other guys on the site will know more exact details soon enough...

For now perhaps you could tells us which version of winuae and ko2 you are using, and what your configuration settings are, and lastly the error messages you're getting. :)

I'm sure with the forum's help we'll get this cracked.... :)

We really could do with an installation guide - does anyone know if one exists ?

These threads touch on the subject...but aren't that useful :(

Sure, as most of the things I've done it's quite outdated, but it does the job.

Hi pit !

As I play kick off on pc only, and I think I have a good knowledge about emulation, and since I'm french too, I'm sure I can help you :)

I invite you to join kick off 2 chatroom: just click this link: http://retrokick.de/irc/kickoff.php

I might help you to use this program, and the great amazing news: it is possible to play kick off 2 on internet against other players.

Viens nous rendre une petite visite :)

The easiest way to play kick off is, I think to download this client: http://www.ko-gathering.com/wiki/images ... online.zip . Install, set up controllers, click ok, and play :P

With the default configuration, controls are: arrowkeys and left CTRL.

Au plaisir.

I definitely hope so

Pop up on the chat pit ! , and don't be afraid by Rayge or me idling it's common business (we're more active during the evening/night ).

Would you have a good ADSL connection you could even play Rayge online in a matter of minutes 8)
