New English Kick off 2 player found!

Postby Vag » Tue Aug 01, 2006 6:16 pm

Last Saturday, my (2nd) son was born in the US, excuse me, UK, London.
For the previous one there wasn't a doctor in the birth room, for this one there wasn't a birth room either! The ambulance went home after he was born, we were lucky everything was fine - except the nationality of course :-P

His name is Ilias and even though he just missed the current UK championship, I'm planning to train him for the next one :-)
His brother, Iakovos, already beats the Alkis team.

Congratulations! He's a little early isn't he?

Have you considered a more English name?

Thank you :-) He was 10 days early! That's why I'm still in Greece and I can post...

This is not a joke, we tried very hard to find a name that is common in greek and arabic (my wife is british/arabic). There were ONLY THREE that we could use (and don't sound too jewish): Iakovos (Yacoub in arabic, Jacob in english), Ilias (Elias in arabic, I don't really know in english) and Yannis (I can't spell it in arabic, John in english).

Ok, FOUR then!

Congrats to you both. Nice name. I think Elias is the English spelling also, as in the Willem Dafoe character in Platoon :) (is one of the names on our hit list too 8) )
