Let's stick to that matter at hand, lads, and not return to the same old arguments in every thread... ;)

Robert's advice which was called depressing by Rodolfo is generally sound. Especially since KO2 players are rare these days and the few you encounter regularly usually know the game pretty well. It should hopefully let you concede less goals in your early career games in which you learn more and more of the trade. Also note that against good players you'll have huge troubles getting near their goal, they win the headers in midfield or stop you otherwise. For that reason alone lobbing is worth practising.

On the other hand, Robert also mentioned that you need possession. As I wrote, I cannot get "into the game" with 532, I lose the ball too fast (or lob too much :D). Against players of equal strength I want to be as active as possible.

It's fine for YOU to tell your opponents to dribble into your box and score because that's much better but the best % is for players to hit 10 lobs and hope that 3 go in. Because if they dribble at you 10 times then maybe they only get in your box 2 times and score 0 or 1. Makes sense World Champ?

I am sure you hate lobbing because it's the #1 goal scored against YOU! But have some sympathy for your opponents. A real champ can take any type of goal and still win.

:D yes, you are right.

Lobbing or not, you would probably have gotten there.

hehe... it's those precious seconds when the ball is in midair and you just wait to see where it would end, without being able to affect the fate...

Well, the difference in the 2003's semifinal between you and me was a lob!

I just don't want newbies to get the idea that Kick Off players are divided in two categories: Dirty lobbers and Ethic non-lobbers. The truth is, we're all dirty in one way or another. :lolo:

I think ethics and kick off have nothing to do together. I like to play hard, and I do not even mind dirty playing. Kick off is war, and we will be friends before and after the match, not when playing. I guess I can defend this point of view and also, dislike lobs.

And yes, we are all dirty... like in the last world cup when so many said that they would not score too many goals against rookies... and then... :D

Had a few more games last night. Sticking to 4-3-3 for the moment. Best result so
far is 9-1. I'm still not totally decided on preferred version, but goalscorring in
WC90 PBD seems easier. 8)

Use PBD. I just couldn't take it if you played v1.4 Jesper. Please.

Are any of the top players (except you  ) using PBD?

Not many of the top professional players use PBD. Just Alkis, Martin Jeffrey, Klaus Loite, Wonka, Luigi (Il Maestro), Gianni (Torchiador), Martin Beard, Panayotis, Trevor, James Lockerbie, Simon Butt and a few others.
