Damn, the 1st, 3rd and 4th players in the last World Cup must have been playing another version.

Hehe... I like the way you put your thought on (virtual) paper. When the discussion is about lobs, you write "Hey Spyros, you were disqualified because of a lob". When it's about PBD, you write "Hey didn't you lose to a PBD master?".

I must have conceeded a dozen different goals in those two matches, relating to any kind of KOA topics :)

Poor Spyros! Rob, please stop teasing the guy! You were damn lucky, that's all!

And Jesper, btw, now that I just noticed it - Odense rocks! Well, ok, it doesn't rock quite like Berlin, but I quite liked it there. I worked in Odense for 8 weeks back in 1993 - some student's job at the Container Centralen (which is a little bungalow next to the huge plant market and responsible for those flower trolleys you see everywhere).

Another aspect of tactics is corners and set pieces. As Tripod has already mentioned free kicks from midfield I won't go there again but you can use free kicks outside the box for shot cum cross type efforts.
And corners, as Rob will affirm, are lethal if you can work out some routines. I have an efficient method for 3 of the 4 corners. Need to work out more and more as people learn to defend each one...DO NOT NEGLECT THIS ASPECT OF KICK OFF!

If you have a method for the bottom right corner, please teach me. Can never get a good return from these.

Camber, I am going to be in the Northern M1 area in the next few days. Fancy some punishment?

While you are in the northern M1 area, I shall be in the westerly M4 area.

May I suggest you call upon Nottingham's finest KO2 player for some corner-based punishment?

Working on a new one, as my current one is stupidly simple to defend...Though Steve hasn't managed to yet...

Any hints AT ALL on tactics and corners???

I love 4-2-4, but recently played a few games as 5-3-2 to minimise goals conceded...

strangely though, at half time, when the tactic gets set to default (4-2-4 when started the game b4 the Kick Off), I have done very well, THINKING I was still playing 5-3-2...

I did this a year ago the last time I played SimonB at Rickmansworth, and recently in the Hertford tournament vs Bounty Bob!

I definately attack better with 4-2-4, but with 5-3-2... I relate to Rob's comments... the ball comes back alot quicker, but you do concede less goals!! Its that word "practice" again...

I've a question on lobs - they sound like a powerful weapon in the arsenal but how good are the top lobbers at lobbing? Do they expect half their lobs to go in? A quarter? One in ten? Do they count players following in to redirect past a set keeper, or merely "pure" lobs?
