International team player attributes

Postby Steve Camber » Mon Jun 23, 2003 5:09 pm

All this talk of hacking got me going, cos I'm a hacker at heart, and no stranger to hex ;)

Anyway there's something I've always wanted to know, and that's the stats of the default teams, so I tracked them down with some old skool camberman magic !

ELITE work Camberman!!!

I have wanted to know these for ages. I am going to transfer these to a spreadsheet. I believe there is an optimum team selection that will suit all tactics. Can you add R.A.Hunt and M.I.Barker? I'd like to propose an 'ultimate' team selection which maybe we could all agree on as the default for tournaments.

Also....any chance you could settle a 13 year old dispute?

I'd like to know the Pace and Stamina of N.J.Sharp (from France) and R.Gregory (from Spain). Both are Forwards. James Lockerbie and I have a bitter dispute over who was the faster player - one which until now could never be resolved!

Incidentally it might be nice to see the stats of the Div 1 team (inc R.Shaw) as I know some players prefer this to the International?

Oooooh...you've opened a can of worms now. BTW I can post the stats of my Arsenal PM team if you like - check the quality difference! Although R.Barber is possibly good enough to make the grade.....

 Amazing work Steve!!!!
What about the statistics of ALL the players?? It could be very useful for a perfect line-up change (or substitution  )

Do all these attribute impact gameplay? For example, does morale have any impact? What about height? Does it have anything to do with headers? Aggresion? Flair? Resilience? What do these all actually do?

Well done Steve my man!

This is where my Player Manager knowledge comes up:

-Yes, height is a factor in headers
-Aggression determines how often your player will stay on his feet
-I never knew the existence of flair, it's not mentioned on PM, I guess it was something initially put in the game but never got used.
-Resilience & Morale are not important in Kick Off 2 as they only reflect on stat changes, and the KO2 players do not change stats.. hopefully.

Don't listen to Alkis, he knows shit about KO2!! :lolo:

As someone who spent 800 million years on Player Manager:

Aggression determines how often players will do computer slides
Height affects the winning of headers
Weight is connected with the 'block tackle' - light players are easily pushed over
Resilience is how likely the player will be injured by a foul
Agility (we think) only applies in Player Manager and affects how much the player skills develop at the end of each season
Morale is PM only and drops if the player is excluded from the team, resulting in a transfer request
Flair (we thought) only arrived in FW so it is unexpected to see it in KO2 - don't know of any effect it has on the game

Note that Steve created all of these teams in Player Manager and installed them into KO2. International is in fact a PM Division One team. Note that PM came before KO2 and had an enhanced KO1 game engine as well as PB Dribble.

Swifty: Flair (we thought) only arrived in FW so it is unexpected to see it in KO2 - don't know of any effect it has on the game

As far as I can tell, flair is one of the factors that goes into determining close control, amongst other things. In FW, there are players like Maradona, Gascoigne, Cruyff or Di Stefano, all of these players have a flair rating in the 150 range I think. Matthews has the highest at 159 I think, or Grahn of Sweden is even higher maybe. All of these types of player are much better at doing special things with the ball at their feet and even with their passing and shooting, but they invariably have stats close to 200 for those other skills anyway.

I hope I haven't opened a can of worms which is going to start another crappy KOA war, I only dug up this info out of interest. Just wanted to see how crap Barratts shooting really was, who was the best striker etc

I am against changing the default line-up, so talk of that scares me.

TeamA and TeamB both have identical stats - I was hoping that TeamB had been downgraded, something which could be rectified to remove the A/B difference, but alas no. :(

How did I do it ?
I found the player attribute structure here :
http://www.ko-gathering.com/phpbb2/view ... c&start=46

In WinAUE I saved a snapshot of KO2, loaded a steriod team, saved another snapshot, then compared the difference. Then I could see where the player attributes were located.
I then wrote an EXE to extract a whole team (22 players) to a text file.
I only posted the starting 11 players, but I've got the whole team here.
Sorted.

I'm currently looking into settling Roberts 13 year old dispute ;)

The figures in brackets show "200-Aggression" as a value of 200 means 0 aggression. Apparently!!!
