OK, I admit it. Kick Off 2 is my favorite soccer game ever. Nevertheless, everytime I played with my friends, I'd get my arse whooped.

I know practice makes perfect, but after some years of playing, I still can't do all the fancy moves, like dribbling the keeper, etc

So any hints you'd care to give to this professional amateur? <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Basically, if you want to increase your chances of winning against human players (apart from practice of course, practice makes perfect = law) i'd suggest to work hard on your defence. I mean, fair enough, fancy moves make you attractive but defence wins games. Try 5-3-2 and work on sweeper (no5) positioning. If you find a team with a fast player in that position, that's a good start.
As for dribbling the keeper. I been playing 11 years now, played against many different opponents in greece, i never saw anyone do it and i only managed it myself after a couple of years. In this club they tell me that everyone can do it so i suppose we're in the same league. I would suggest you to practice this:Try trapping the ball as if you're going to pass. Then realease joystick (no direction in it) and then release the button. That will allow the ball to be free. Then just run away in a different direction. You can fool almost all average player and quite a few of the good ones and trying that one on one with a keeper can give you a maradona-style goal. Just remember to do this fast, and it takes a lot of practice.
Finally, one thing i do, if you want to disorganise an opponent. Try as much pressure as you can, try to steal the ball with no fouls and send it forward instantly. You may not get the best opportunities but it will destroy the opponents rythm in trying to get an organised game and force an error possibly. Again, not fancy but effective.
hope this helps <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif">

Thanks for the hints, I will practice more often... maybe even not on KO2 but on UKO when it comes out...

Now I just need the greek joysticks <IMG SRC="/phpBB/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif">
