Don't worry Bill mate - I'll summarise for people:

Here is Bills KO2 Story...

March 1989: was Amstrad 6128 user - devoted to MatchDay2 - visit a friend, see the game called Kick Off. I never touch MatchDay ever again. We play games. I win them. Earns the nickname of 'Franz' (Franz Beckenbauer).Summer 1990. The amiga is now widespread - a new game Kick Off 2! After touch! Kick Off I goes in the drawer, long live KO2! I win. September 1993: I move to Patras to study in the Uni. My amiga stays behind. In November 2001, now being in the UK for a whole year. There are KO forums. The 'scoundrel' of the KOA: Rikki Fullarton. I was unlucky to meet 'the German' Steve Camber in my 2nd match. I lost. My interest in the game waned and I stopped playing again in May after the last London Gathering.
August 2002: I couldn't miss the WC. The KOA still has the silly rules.
Birmingham 2011 World Cup: 15th best player :)

The weird coincidences of life. In my KO story (to be played at a cinema near you very soon! ) 1993 is the dat i move to Patras as well and stop playing KO! Two quality players, in the same town, in the same year, each not knowing that other exists! Too bad the internet was not so widespread back then but even like that, what were the chances to meet up??
I can oly say this, had me and Alkis met back then with all those free hours to kill playing KO, i cannot dare to imagine the level to which our game would have developed! For us at least, history would have benn re-written!

Maybe it's a good thing we didn't meet Bill.. I reckon that with all the hours dedicated to our matches we'd still be students! Wait a minute, I still am.
About your story.. Jesus dude, do you also remember the brand of the shirt the doctor who slapped your butt the day you were born was wearing? Excellent stuff, brought back plenty of memories. I was also disappointed to watch players I knew I could easily win on television. If the magazine you mean is 'User', yes that's the one I won, I played two global tournaments, the second was advertised in a newspaper. I also sent a disk with some rare goals to Pixel that were much better than the ones that won.

Alkis, i think he was wearing Lacoste but i'm not 100% sure. Been looking the bastard ever since for slapping my butt!

Seriously, i know that somewhere in my place i have records of all my tournaments and most games etc that's how i remember stuff. i used to dig out the notes and read, then re-live the memories.
User was the magazine so your memory is just as good as mine! Bastards never called me back. Was it a Kick Off I or KO2 tournament? Up to this day i have the impression that it was KO1.
And of course, all the Pixel competitions were setups, a very good friend of mine who never owned an amiga (and at the time of the show we hadn't met) has recorded most of the matches and before i left Patras in 98 we watched that video. It will bring you laughter and tears mate! The guys were useless! If Rikki Fullarton saw the final he'd laugh his ass of, they didnt even use the 'parallel move and shot' trick! I remember the guys name, he won the tournament and best goal in that other competition i think. It's Houlis Pantazis. May be worth tracking him down and asking him to join the KOA! He mayt learn something

Oh I remember User very well (it was a KO2 tourney by the way), they ripped me off badly those days. In their first issues, they had no adventure games expert so they were desperately seeking for feedback. I sent them two game walkthroughs, which they immediately published. Then I sent them four more I had written of VERY recent games, priceless in those no-internet days. They contacted me and asked me whether I was interested in working for them, but I was a student studying for my finals so they told me to get in touch with them after I had finished school. Guess what they did next.. they started a contest on these exact games, used my walkthroughs and didn't even mention my name! It goes beyond saying that they never heard from me again.

That was very nice Vasili. Now that I brought my video camera from my parents' house we can make a film. We have a good scenario, we can easily find a CPC with Matchday and plenty of actors. Rikki is MIA but we can persuade Sam to play him ( )... By the way, I do have taped the Computer Show episodes. What a laugh... The guys were totally useless. Oh...and the guy's name was Houlis Pantazis.
Ahhh...the good old days...

Alkis, User faced many legal actions from the other mag Pixel because of plagiarism. I thought it was a crap magazine and I only bought it 4 or 5 times. Tsourinakis was the best!!!

User magazine, yeah dirty bastards! Copying stuff from Pixel and totally unprofessionals. Ripping you off was only to be expected.
Not that Pixel guys were saints, many of the guys there were crap. Especially Antonis Lekopoulos! He fancied himself as a KO god and in a small article he named himself 'The Brazilian of KO2, master of dribbling".

Yeah, i will never forget Houlis Pantazis. Weird name, low KO skill. Alkis, do you think we might have a chance of finding him through the phonebook? As a guest star appearance for the WC!

Niko, excellent idea. I think Joel Osmond should play me as a young lad learning KO. For my later days Brad Pitt will do fine!
Oh, and if Sam cant make it, we could get one of the guys playing at Eastenders (Brit soap) whose name i do not know to play Rikki!

Hold on to those tapes, will be fun watching them again mate!

Hmm.. I used to think so too, until I had the misfortune of meeting him in person. Remind me to tell you story when we meet.
