The KOA's reasons to be cheerful...1,2,3...

alkis21 wrote:This IS the KOA. To you, the KOA is obviously just the world cup. To me, it's the monthly tournaments, the daily discussions, the flights to other countries for international gatherings, the KO2 analysis, the Camber Version suggestions, the replays we post and much more. The world cup is just a chance for most of us to get together and hopefully for others to join the fun, but that doesn't mean in ANY WAY that those others (most of which only come ONCE) are the 'true KOA'. The idea is heretic and ridiculous.

Partly inspired by Alkis comments and partly by Ian Dury's song (any chance of a re-intepretion, Alex ;)) I'd thought I'd start this thread! Amidst all the mud-slinging and forum fighting, its easy to become temporarily disheartened with the KOA and if so, this thread's for you! :)

These are some of the things I like about this place...

* FORUM - its what brings us all together and makes so much of what the KOA does possible. Thank you Durban!

* KO2CV - like many of us, I'm a big fan of the CV and way it breathes yet more life in the old dog, allowing us to get even more out of the great game! 8) The KOA's very fortunate to have SteveC not only for the CV but how his generous expertise feeds the KO2 analysis. Hail Steve!

* MEMBER INTERESTS - from sharing views of films and member's holidays, to Claire's photography and the easy-on-the-eye NSFW piccies!!!

* KO2 NUTS - the enthusiasm to host regular tourneys, the excitement of newcomers when they find the KOA after all these years, and the willingness to travel half-way around the world to play the great game. Love it! :D

* KO2 SENIORS - the founding fathers of the KOA, all the guys that have been here for ages, that are welcoming to newbies and willing to pass on their words of experienced gameplay and tournament hosting etc 8)

* KO2 CLIPS - really bring to life so much of what we discuss. Gianni and the italian guy's clips in particular are so inspiring to watch!

* WIT - the vast majority are members are good natured and enjoy the friendly banter between one another. Cheers most of us!

* THROW IN - Gianluca's new beta of this Kick Off remake has some big improvements. It's got so many deltas compared to the previous version, that you could easily call it a gamma! 8)
* GDH82 - Garry is always good for a nice new discussion topic :D

KOA KIDS - I like the way KOA'ers share their family news too!!! See, we're all one big KOA family really, and every family has its black sheep, don't you know!

How is it possible that someone like Durban can produce such beautiful daughters?

Luckily, 50% of the genes are from somebody else.
This is also true in my case ;)

Guess most of it's Mel's doing. ;)

Gary, gotta bring The WC into that list (believe it or not).
