This would be an ideal time to make my video. ie, not having to get on a plane.

Incidently, I still have 20 minutes of pre-Gronnigen footage of the Beards training and an interview. One of them is drug induced.

Ahhhh, the video! I need to be there then. Mate, can I give you my Groningen footage too? I have the drawing (lots of fun), the game of shame and the end ceremony... I can make it to MPEG2 with full DVD resolution.

DV? That's too much of technology for me. It's in ordinary Video 8 tape.

That's fine. I can still edit it all with my DV stuff, if that's ok.

I have it on good authority that our man is in Nottingham right now, putting those elite organisational skills to good use.

The venue details will be posted asap.

The venue I had originally planned to use in Nottingham has not checked out. They have a purpose-built meeting venue in a separate building across from the Travel Inn. Although the facilities are excellent they are designed for businesses and seem to think that we should pay them £500 to get a room for the weekend. As this would involve 25 people committed to paying £20 each I think that the KOA (in my experience) are too tight/lame/non-committal for me to book this room and we we have to look somewhere cheaper. Next time I am in Nottm I will look for some other venues but I don't want to stop others from Gloucester/Wolverhampton etc going down to investigate their local Travel Inns.

Good work Robert, well done for going to have a butchers.

Travelodge are currently doing rooms for £10, a great deal but we would have to book by 4th March...that is Thurday. (Very) Short notice I know and I am not sure if we could get a sizeable confirmed list together by then. In any case tomorrow morning I will phone up the Travelodge in Stonehouse near Gloucester to see if they are available. Its worth investigating because £10 is fantastic. I would phone now but I managed to leave my phone on the train the other day

I am more than happy to help organise.

If there are any other Travelodges anyone wants to enquire about now is the time!

OK to be honest I haven't phoned up the Travelodge and in any case I realised it was actually impossible to get numbers together by...today.

I will phone anyway to see if they are availble some time. Watch this space.

I will be in Nottingham this weekend and find an alternative venue. Maybe we will be looking at the City Centre now.
