Indoor soccer: IMPORTANT UPDATE! CONFIRMATION REQUIRED!!

Postby Oliver St » Mon Aug 30, 2010 2:01 pm

As I am in charge of organising the entertainment program for saturday night I would like to offer you 2 activities: after the games will have finished we can either go to an indoor football center or have a vast common dinner at a restaurant. I know that there are some of you that are interested in joining indoor football action but of course we have to go by the majority. So please make up your mind about that. Please mind that in case we went to the indoor soccer center everyone would have to organise his own dinner (there are some snack bars and restaurants in walking distance around the world cup hotel).

Confirmed players:

Michael F
John H
Robert S
Garry C
Simon K
Alessandro V
Sandro T
Flavio Z
Ektoras K
Cornelius H
Volker B
Gunther W
Jacob K
Dagh N

The indoor soccer center just sent me the offer for the dinner. We have the option to order a buffet. A minimum of 15 persons is required to order this buffet. Price will be 25€ for everyone. The buffet contains the following food:

- mini spring rolls
- Chicken wings
- poultry meatballs
- cucumber salad
- coleslaw
- bean salad
- leek soup with hash meat
- spare ribs with BBQ sauce
- roast beef
- cob on corn
- farmer potatoes
- chocolate muffins

Furthermore it is important that I communicate the exact number of persons 10 days beforehand at the latest. So please make up your mind and confirm your attendance as soon as possible.

Confirmed for dinner:

Alkis P
Rodolfo M
Steve C
Robert S
Frank F
Gianni T
Marry T
Valentina V
Sandro T
Ektoras K
Cornelius H
Flavio Z
Alessandro C
Lorenzo
Tommaso
Horst L
Michael F
Michael Ma
Jan K
Jacob K
Dagh N
Dirk B
Christiana W

I have not the slightest doubt: I will be having dinner. However, perhaps majority should not rule this case: If there are enough people wanting to play football, why not let them have it, while me and others dine? Or we could even find some take away food and watch the football. We will all spend a lot of time together across the weekend anyway.

Yes, of course we could split in 2 groups - dinner and indoor soccer. But in this case we would need 2 persons to organize and escort both activities. Honestly it was Volkers idea to offer indoor soccer. Basically I like indoor soccer but I personally think that after a long day full of exhausting Kick Off games I would prefer a comfortable dinner. I will have a word with Volker about that. Maybe he can escort the indoor soccer group (and serve them as a brilliant goalkeeper :) ) while I will book a huge table in a nearby restaurant and accompany those who prefer an extended dinner.

I just found out that the indoor soccer hall also has a restaurant where I can book a huge table in a separate area where we can order a buffet. Anyway it will not offer the same quality and elegant atmosphere as the spanish restaurant I was aiming to go to.

I wouldn't want to risk an injury in the middle of a Kick Off 2 world cup. So I vote dinner.

In order to book the court (or maybe courts if 2 are required) early enough in advance I would like to ask those who are interested in playing to confirm their attendance. In case there are not more than 12 players (this is the maximum amount of players allowed per court) one court will be enough. The court will cost 58€ per hour. So you will also have to decide for how long you want to play.

I finished my career years ago so I'll vote for dinner, too.
