As Guybrush said: "if there is only one choice, the choice is easy!"
In this case, in addition to this, the bid is very serious, well thought, and (since i read also the german ko2 forum) proposed by very capable organizers. So its exactly what is needed for our playing needs :D
I will be there for sure, cannot miss the world cup in my "50% home country"

Therefore:
Top Bid approved!
----------------------

I was preparing my bid for Las Vegas, the MGM entirely hired for us, special guest star tom cruise playing in the tournament, dinner at the David Copperfield spectacle, final games played on IMAX, use of the new HAM8 16k color version ok KO2 made by Camber to play on the new A5000 machines in hi-res.
all this has a cost and i estimated 10 euro inclusive flights, meals, games, amigas, single hotel rooms, buonus of 100$ for the casino games and so on, for person. But could be lowered to 8 euro/person if more than 3 partecipant applies!
but ok.... maybe next year :P

Volker, keep calm and carry on! We shall never surrender and will be offering an alternative venue shortly.

Who says something of surrender? After a short night already checked forbidden alternatives like cologn, but it seems the whole Rheinland turns into the dark sensible Soccer side :evilo:

btw...A big compliment from my side to Alkis that he got the Athen WC- venue for that price 8)

what about 2005 Venue in Cologne? ok, it will be not a new city, but I really like it!. that's just to make a name. If you have better solution in Dusseldolf, for sure it will be a pleasure to visit a new city with KOAers!
Anyway don't worry mates, in the last months I changed place for my wedding and date, 2 times! so don't worry, shit happens!
Do what is needed, KOA will follow you! :)

The tournament room is not free :|

I´m pissed because the DJH had gives us the accomodation+tournament room for 60€ each day pro person. I checked all posibilities now in and out Düsseldorf where you can sleep and play(require a 200m² room) in one house for under 100€ and nothing. We are talking now about 130€, thats profiteering

The possibilities are:
1)to split accomodation and tournament room
2)not host it in a central position

Thanks Gianni. Besides other alternative places i am indeed considering the youth hostel in cologne aswell. However i would prefer a venue in the Duesseldorf area as i am responsible for the local hardware provison. If we hosted the world cup in cologne i would want to handover this task to Freddy. Anyway we have a lot of options left.

No problem at all... it is very difficult to sort out things before you have booked them. The best is always to have things partially booked before to post the bid. But on the other side, this normally means to risk some money of your own pocket for KOA and this should not be. In Rome we had to do this, but I cannot suggest this procedure.

These things happens, and I'm sure you will sort things out very soon. Keep the nice work. You have the organizing group, you have ideas and resources. This means that a solution should be found quickly. And I'm sure KOA will follow!
Continue with your good work!

PS:
Without these problems how can I complain in future??? So they are at least for me welcome :P
Looking at Vancouver, I want this year a KOA Stadium extra build for us, a KOA Player Village, an opening ceremony with singer Nena (featuring 99 Luftbalons), some gaint plastic statues raising from the ground representing Gianni, Camber, Robert, Alkis, Gianluca and of course me, a welcome party from the duesseldorf natives (original barbarians), a world cup trophy made of 7kg gold, and the bmw orcacle trimaran exposed in the hall, else it's all crap from the start!

If it are only these small things, i´m glad now to make me any head more about transport service, 100 % working amiga systems, swift certificated and slidefree greek stick tables, ... :P
btw:
why we need original barbarians, when we have Thorsten who is louder than a group of them.
But anyway, will try my best to get Conan back(maybe u understand this pun, if u know the german forum names  )
