Well the threshold for deciding whether to cancel or not has come and gone (it was 10th September) so a few jitters were setting in. But now we have 10 confirmed players, this UK Champs is happening whether people like it or not!
Remember guys, if anyone else even has a mild interest then it's definetly not too late in confirming. Why not do what Andy has done and invite some of your friends? They could be the next Dagh! Although it's not been mentioned, Logo's is a relative newbie to offline tournaments but with his training with Dagh, he's in with a shout of winning. A top 3 place is a certainty.
In a way, the old guard of Kick Off 2 are moving on to pastures new. They'v either fallen out of love with the game due to the forum fights - and can't be arsed with it all anymore....something that's very understandable I have to say. They simply don't have the time or money or their personal situation means they can't make them anymore so in a way, the UK is experiencing a slight shift - and it's difficult - but these newer players could represent the new great hope for UK Kick Off 2. In the same way that the relative newbies of Kobra along with the tireless assistance of Obi "Robert Swift" Wan, have kept the UK Champs a reality for the past 2 years.
In a perfect world you'd have the newbies and the old guard - which is what happened at the UK Champs 2008. There's still plenty of time to find out...
All that we know is that the UK Champs 2009 is definetly happening
Kick Off 2 is just too damn fun to just stop altogether. Even if you can't attend or host tournaments, it should be an obligation to come to the UK Champs hehe
