Jbounias, I have been following this peculiar Jihad that you have launched against Awesome Soccer for some time now. I never understood what your problem was against it and why you were so passionately determined to undermine it, but as you were never rude to the game developer I did not interfere. You had the right to your opinion, which you have stated (repeatedly). However, in the current thread your behavior is flirting with the unacceptable. Yes, Red27's post is an advertisement but one that is very closely related to KOA's theme so not only is he not breaking any rules, such posts are more than welcome in our forum. What is not welcome is comments such as "give us a break" because it gives the impression to Red27 that his news reports are unwanted here, which is certainly not true. Furthermore, all your comments in the current thread have nothing to do with constructive criticism; they're downright flaming. I'm a game developer myself so I can tell the difference. You do not like the game, you stated so, let's leave it at that and move along. You are an intelligent man and you understand that your assessment on Awesome Soccer is not necessarily a universal fact, and that others might very well like playing it.

Any posts that follow this one and are not entirely related to AS will be deleted.

i didn knew advertising was acceptable In the fora so i will protect myself from spam-threading from now on.
I detest hidden advertising and maybe the admins should label these theads ?

Advertising of porn, not KO2 related items etc is not allowed. However, when someone is releasing a game that is based on KO, we would gladly try it out and give feedback to the developers. We have done this several times in the past. Mind you, this is a fan site and we had something similar for Kick Off 2004, UPM, TI, WOF. If there is unwanted advertising, the moderators will take actions against it. There is no need for users to attack the authors.

Its not really hidden advertising, Red 27 has put his game on the board for people to have a look at, and purchase if you really want. The reactions did seem a little over the top.

I have tried to stay out of this - avoid fuel on fire etc. But I have no hidden agenda - I absolutely adored KO2 in the 90's - so much so that I chose to write a game in an homage style, not as a direct port.

I keep saying about the AS games - I just want to make them better - and it's something I can do, quite easily, with feedback. The balance is making a game entertaining right from the get go, against creating an in-depth learning experience that grows with time. In the days of FIFA and Pro Evo, getting ANY gamer to choose an alternative "fringe game" is very difficult.

And to get some perspective, here's one of the latest reviews from a site that reviews games (including offerings from New Star Games - a significantly more "famous" Indie Soccer Games producer), and they have awarded the latest NSS World 2010 offering 7/10, yet that have awarded Awesome Soccer World 2010 a favourable 9/10.

You can read that review here: http://captaind-pc-gaming.blogspot.com/2010/06/indie-game-review-awesome-world-soccer.html

Cheers,

Pete (Red27).

I think this thread has been a trifle silly. Many posters from the KOA regulary post on other forums blatantly advertising Kick Off 2 tournaments so to object to anything like this on the KOA is a trifle contradictory.

Ok...shameless plug...but I've just had the game reviewed in the September 2010 edition of Mac Format (I think it's the best selling Mac Magazine in the UK). They gave it a full page review and awarded the game a very respectable 4/5 stars!

To use some football parlance....I'm over the moon!
